According to the American College of Sports and Medicine, health benefits can be attained in an aerobic workout in less than 20 minutes and at an intensity level of less than 55% of maximum heart rate (age-220+ maximum, heart rate).  With that in mind, BodyFit has a specially designed program that meets the needs and schedules of all our female members.  Women of all ages, shapes, and ethnicity.  We cater to the novice.  However, we have some veteran athletes that are just as challenged in our program.  Most of our classes are 30-minutes and vary in intensity.  This is a great draw for those intimidated by long classes and for those who are just starting out.  There’s very little down time here.  It’s off with the coats and straight to the floor.  Our members have come to realize that it’s not “all or nothing”  at BodyFit, it’s “something is better than nothing!"

Class Descriptions

Aerobic classes:

Bosu Step – Like a step class except you will be stepping on a half ball with a firm platform.  Stepping on the Bosu Ball helps strengthen muscles of the body that you don’t see!  Class is a set at a slow and controlled pace with very little choreography.

Cardio Dance- A fun and energetic low to moderate impact dance class.  Dance theme vary from disco, hip-hop, swing, and Latin dance. 

Gentle Start -  No group exercise experience? No problem. Recommended for seniors and for  those who want a "gentle start"   Ideal for Prenatal and postpartum women.

Low Impact Aerobics- A moderately paced aerobic workout simply choreographed to exciting and motivating music.  This aerobic class has minimal impact on the knees, shins, feet and lower back. 

Step - A Challenging non-impact aerobic workout choreographed to music using the bench step.

Zumba®- A hot, sexy, soulful aerobic dance class.  Learn to merengue, salsa, samba, hip-hop.  Zumba® is a fusion of Latin and International dance. Class is free to members, $12-non/members.

Muscle Conditioning Classes:

PUMP -  A weight training class that conditions and strengthens every major muscle group in the body utilizing dumbbells, Bosu Ball and your own body weight.  Ideal for beginners to advanced exercisers. 

Step Interval – An intense 30-minute class designed to challenge your level of fitness.  This class consists of intervals of stepping for 5-7 minutes, immediately followed by 90 seconds of muscle conditioning. 

Abs and Back -  A must for all!  This class will strengthens your abs, back and hip stabilizers.  Enjoy a relaxing stretch at the end.

Lower Body – A class that conditions and strengthens the abs, back and legs.

Mind and Body Classes:

Yoga- A wholesome approach to achieving perfect physical and mental health, happiness and tranquility.  Style of yoga depends on the instructor. 

Yogalates – A combination of yoga and Pilates.  A flexibility and core conditioning workout.  Strengthens your abs, back and glutes.  Improves balance, posture and alignment.

Fusion - A core conditioning class combining yoga, Pilates; utilizing the Bosu Ball and Bands.

 Alternative Workouts: 

KickBox- Kicking butt to music!  America’s hottest fitness craze.  Combination of martial arts and boxing.  Classed designed within AFAA guidelines for your safety and enjoyment.

Spinning ®– A motivating stationary cycling class on Schwinn bikes.  You will climb imaginary hills, jump pot holes, even compete in a race.  You control the intensity.  Johnny G. Certified instructors.  All levels are welcomed!

Belly Dance- a fun form of exercise that nurtures self expression, celebration, fantasy and feeling sensual.  Beginners and experienced dancers welcomed.
